If nothing changes:
Old strategies may keep calling the shots like overfunctioning, shutting down, people-pleasing or repeating the same defensive dynamics with others. Burnout and disconnection can get worse. The cost is often lost energy, strained relationships, unresolved anxiety and a growing sense of disconnection from yourself and what matters most.
